Turn document photos into one A4 PDF on Android

To turn document photos into one A4 PDF on Android, start with readable images, arrange them in the right order, choose a suitable finish, and save the exported file somewhere you can find again. The important check is the finished PDF, not just how the thumbnails look.

Scan2PDF creates A4 PDF documents locally from scanned pages or imported photos on Android. This guide uses Scan2PDF to assemble an existing set of document photos, such as three pages of handwritten meeting notes.

Prepare a readable set of photos

Before importing, open each photo and check the smallest writing you need to preserve. Look at the page edges as well as the center. Retake a photo when a line is cut off, a finger covers the page, or glare makes a section hard to read.

For a fresh photo, place the sheet on a flat surface, keep the phone square to it, and check the whole page before moving on. Leave room around the edges rather than risking a missing signature or page number. These are capture checks you control; converting an unclear photo into a PDF does not make the missing information available.

Choose only the pages that belong together. For example, keep the three pages of one meeting in a single document and save an unrelated receipt separately. Decide the intended order before you start importing.

The English interface uses Import, Scan, Create PDF, Save, Share and Open in PDF Reader, with page previews and move-up, move-down and delete controls.

  1. Tap Import and select the document photos you want to include.
  2. Preview the pages and compare them with your intended sequence.
  3. Use the move-up and move-down controls to put the pages in order.
  4. Remove duplicate or unrelated pages, checking the page before confirming deletion.
  5. Choose the document finish, then tap Create PDF.

The current Android implementation supports up to 24 pages in one draft. For a longer document, plan sensible parts before starting, such as one PDF per section. Use filenames that make the sequence clear instead of relying on the order in which files appear in a folder.

For the meeting-notes example, compare the opening sentence of each page with your paper notes. A page count of three is useful, but it does not tell you whether page two was accidentally included twice.

Choose a finish that keeps details visible

Scan2PDF lets you reorder or remove pages and choose color, grayscale or black-and-white output.

Start with color when colored notes, stamps or highlights carry meaning. Compare grayscale when the document mainly contains ordinary text. Try black and white carefully on faint pencil marks or shaded diagrams, checking that the information you need remains readable.

Judge the result by the document, not by which option sounds most professional. If a finish hides a faint annotation, choose another one. For pages with mixed handwriting and printed text, inspect both types of content before creating the file.

Save and inspect the file you will send

Exported PDFs are temporary until the user saves or shares them. For a copy you intend to keep, choose Save, select a destination and use a recognizable filename, such as meeting-notes-2026-11-01.pdf.

Scan2PDF can save a PDF through the Android file picker, share it, or open it in PDF Reader or another compatible app. Open the saved copy from its destination and inspect every page. Check the order, orientation, page edges and small text rather than checking only the first page.

Before sharing, make sure the file is the finished version and contains only the intended pages. After sending it, checking the attachment is a useful final step: a correct draft is not enough if you selected a different file.

Know what the PDF contains

Scan2PDF creates image-based PDFs; it does not provide OCR or automatic cloud synchronization. Treat this workflow as a way to assemble readable page images, rather than as a way to generate editable or searchable text.

For new captures, the Google ML Kit scanner provides cropping and perspective correction when available; the basic system-camera fallback does not automatically correct perspective. Google explains that its document scanner components are downloaded through Google Play services, so the first use can require a download. Importing existing photos is a separate capture path in Scan2PDF.

You can find the app on the official Scan2PDF Google Play listing. Once your PDF is saved, use the actual file as your final checklist: complete pages, correct order, readable details and the right attachment.
